1. General Information
GT26 is an amorphous nylon (polyamide) resin which has superior transparency, good barrier properties to gases, water, solvents and essential oils, high light transmission, ultrahigh rigidity, easily colorable, food contact acceptable, excellent molding processability and dimensional stability, together with high temperature structural properties, all of these performance make it suitable for consideration in a number of applications.
2. Typical Characteristics
GT26 barrier resin is characterized by excellent barrier to gas O2, CO2 and moisture. Furthermore, GT26 is unique in that its gas barrier improves with increasing relative humidity. The high barrier performance of GT26 also reflected in the excellent resistance to many types of solvent systems, such as aliphatic, aromatic hydrocarbons, dilute alkalis, higher molecular weight alcohols, and low concentrations of lower molecular weight alcohols. With its high degree of stiffness, excellent barrier to gases and moisture, solvent resistance, high temperature resistance and excellent gloss and clarity, GT26 can be blow-molded to rigid "glass like" container.
