Polyol, Isocyanate

Polyol is a chemical term, that is, a large group of alcohols with two or more hydroxyl groups in the molecule. Its general formula is CnH2n+2-x(OH)x(x≥2).
Polyols are generally soluble in water. Most polyols are viscous liquids or crystalline solids with high boiling point, strong solubility for polar substances, low toxicity and volatility. Its boiling point, viscosity, relative density and melting point increase with the increase of molecular weight.


Polyols are the main raw materials for the preparation of polyurethane adhesives, and their properties are also different due to different molecular structures.
1.The polyurethane adhesive synthesized by polyol with regular structure has strong crystallinity and high bonding strength;
2.Polyurethane adhesive prepared from polyol with side chain methyl has good gloss and brightness;
3.The polyurethane adhesive prepared by polyether polyol has lower glass transition temperature, better flexibility and water resistance.
Polyols with different relative molecular weights and different molecular structures can be used to synthesize polyurethane adhesives with different performance properties.
